Wednesday classes at Grey Cat Studios are ongoing. Classes currently in session:
7-8pm Balswing (ends June 4th)
8-9pm Beginner Swing: Lindy Hop 101 (invitational new blood lesson June 4th. Four week session starting June the 11th)
7-8pm Intermediate Lindy Hop 202 begins June 11th

Grey Cat Studio Class Descriptions:
Beginner Swing: Lindy Hop 101
This class will give you a good foundation to start dancing socially.
It focuses on the mother-dance of historical African American
vernacular social dances; Savoy-style Lindy Hop. You will learn the
eight count basic swing-out, the Lindy circle, inside & outside
turns, sugar pushes & more.
Intermediate Lindy Hop 201
This class requires a working knowledge of 101 concepts. It will
refine your musicality & partner connection for the social dance
floor along with adding to your repertoire of moves.
Performance & Fast Lindy Track
This class has restricted registration. It requires one year of social
Lindy Hop or one year of Lindy Hop classes or permission from the
instructor (please contact her zwhittaker@gmail.com) for next start date. This class is high impact.
Balswing:
This class will give you a good foundation to start dancing basic Balboa and Balswing socially.
It focuses on teahing you how to transition into Balboa,simple turns, basic stylings and how to
put it into your Lindy.

Wear clothes you can move in.
For this venue wear shoes that are smooth/slick bottomed, non-marking
& most importantly give a little cushion (insoles help).
Cost is $45 for a five week cycle or $10 each

Private Instruction
is also available for those who don't learn well in group situations or just want to advance quickly
rates: $35 an hour or three lessons for $80

Instructor Biography:
Zoë Whittaker has been dancing, performing & instructing Savoy style Lindy Hop for over six years. She emphasizes the basic techniques of social dance and is known for her connection based approach to teaching the swing out. Her classes teach solid partner communication and technique that will make your dancing feel comfortable. Some of her professional experiences include teaching and performing blues dance at Herrä ng Dance Camp in Sweden, teaching connection classes at Lindy Focus III (Asheville, NC), working as a dance consultant on the set of movie Leatherheads and directing two year? of Orton Academy's Swing & Jazz program (Asheville, NC).
